There’s a point towards the end of any development where things start to shift.
Homes are finished, lights are on in the evenings, and people are beginning to settle into their routines. At Figham Gate II, we’re now at that stage.
With all 35 homes complete and keys continuing to be handed over, the development is starting to feel like a community that’s taken root here on the south-east edge of Beverley.

Where it all began
Before any work started, this land formed part of the Archbishop of York’s historic deer park, something we were keen to reflect as the development took shape.
Just as we did with the original Figham Gate development (completed in 2018), we named every home design after the people and places connected to this land’s past: The Ellis, The Lepton, The Wragby and The Tickhill – drawn from the medieval administrators and ecclesiastical history tied to this land. It’s a subtle way of carrying that heritage into the development today.
Beverley itself has always been an easy choice for us. From the Minster and the Westwood, to some of the best schools in the East Riding and Saturday Market, it’s no coincidence we keep coming back to build here.

30+ years in the making
Figham Gate II is part of a much longer story for us.
Our founder, Mark Barrett, built his first homes in Beverley over 30 years ago. Returning to the town with another development, and seeing it recognised with an NHBC Pride in the Job award feels particularly meaningful.
The award reflects the way the site has been run day-to-day, and the standard of work delivered by everyone involved. It’s not something that happens by chance, it comes from consistency, attention to detail and a team that takes pride in what they build.
As a family business, that approach has always mattered. These are places we know well, and communities we remain part of long after the build is complete.

Homes designed for everyday living
From two-bedroom terraced homes to four-bedroom executive detached properties, Figham Gate II was designed to work for real day-to-day living.
Open-plan kitchen and dining spaces, good natural light and practical layouts sit alongside features like underfloor heating, granite worktops, oak internal doors and integrated NEFF appliances – all included as standard.
It’s not about adding extras, but getting the fundamentals right from the start.
With the majority of homeowners now moved in and just the final homes nearing completion, the development is beginning to feel established – not just as a collection of houses, but as a place people are making their own.

Looking ahead
If Figham Gate II has you thinking about your next move, the good news is there’s more to come from Risby Homes.
Hornby Walk, in the sought-after village of Walkington, is a small, exclusive development with some of our most unique homes to date. Properties are still available but moving fast, so if you’ve been thinking about it, now is the time to get in touch.
Hornby Walk isn’t our only village community. Maple Croft in Cherry Burton has just broken ground, with a selection of exclusive luxury homes coming soon in this charming East Yorkshire village.
For those who may have missed out at Figham Gate II, our next development in Beverley, Bramble Fold, is due to begin next year, offering a new opportunity to own a Risby home in a location we’ve built in for over 30 years.
