MANAGING DIRECTOR
Inspired after studying and working in the construction industry, Mark established Risby Homes in 1993 with the goal to create high quality residential developments and put home buyers at the heart of the process.
As managing director, Mark discovers new sites for future developments while overseeing the smooth running of the business.
Olly Barrett
CONSTRUCTION DIRECTOR
Keeping it in the Barrett family, Mark’s son Olly is responsible for making sure every Risby Home is produced to the same exceptional standard, checking care and attention goes into every element of the build process. With over 15-years house building experience, including the renovation and development of his own home, Olly loves working with customers in the design stage to create fully personalised family homes.
Amy Owen
COMPANY SECRETARY
Daughter to Mark and sister to Olly, Amy keeps the Risby team working seamlessly together, responsible for all the administrative aspects of the business.
Amy loves to see the individual touches each buyer chooses for their homes.
Iain Pettit
SITE MANAGER
Iain brings outstanding technical expertise to Risby Homes, with 13 years’ experience as an NHBC building inspector and valuable time as a site manager at Countryside Properties. His comprehensive background in inspecting everything from basements to high-rise apartments ensures our homes meet and exceed industry standards. Leading our Figham Gate II development in Beverley, Iain’s commitment to quality and attention to detail aligns perfectly with our reputation for building homes of exceptional character and craftsmanship.
Jemima Clarke

With 15 years of customer care experience, Jemima understands the importance of happy homeowners and is here to make your Risby home-buying journey unforgettable for all the right reasons. With over two decades of industry experience, Amanda brings exceptional customer service expertise to the Risby Homes family. Having previously worked with large volume housebuilders, she combines deep industry knowledge with a genuine passion for helping people find their perfect home. Amanda values the personal touch that comes with being part of a family-owned business and takes pride in ensuring every customer’s journey is smooth and enjoyable. Her commitment to understanding each buyer’s unique needs makes her an invaluable member of our sales team.
Joanne Allen
INTERIOR DESIGNER
A successful artist and creative at heart, it goes without saying that Jo loves interiors. Since 2016 Jo’s been designing our development show homes, decorating each to demonstrate their full potential.
Her favourite features include the kitchen area bi-fold doors creating an abundance of light on the ground floor and working with features like the secret doors within our latest house types.

Recently relocated to Beverley. Very, very happy we chose to buy a Risby House. From the start the service has been excellent, both Jemima and Amanda have been extremely helpful guiding us through the process and answering all our queries promptly and fully, no matter how trivial some of them seemed.
Whole purchase process went incredibly smoothly.
We have now been in our house a few weeks and are pleased to say this excellent service has continued with Iain ensuring that any little niggles (and they are only little niggles, as the quality of the build is exceptional) are dealt with quickly. Tradesmen are quickly sent to professionally deal with any minor issues and again each one of them has been very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them.
We are so pleased with our new home and the quality of all the work. Looking forward to spending many happy years here.

We recently moved into our Risby home and are so happy we stuck with the process.
As for any new build and one of the first on the development, you may encounter delays. The correspondence we received from Jemima with updates and visual pictures reassured any stresses we had. Jemima was just wonderful to speak with, friendly and transparent- which is all you can ask for.
From selecting flooring, to designing our dream kitchen, we have been supported all the way. Thank you to Risby’s chosen suppliers, East Yorkshire Carpets for our gorgeous herringbone flooring, and to the guys at BMS Kitchens that outdid themselves with helping to design and then fit our incredible kitchen.
We could not be happier with the quality, high standard, high spec and overall result. Our home really is a dream home! We are even more impressed with the care and excellent personal service from Risby Homes, you don’t feel like a number, the family owned company definitely makes the buyer feel valued. We visited the the Risby show homes open day and were very impressed with the high quality of the homes and the professionalism of the staff. We had a lovely time being shown around the site by Richard and meeting and chatting to staff and future home owners. The atmosphere was relaxed and we did not feel under any pressure to buy a home.

We love our Risby Home and could not fault the whole buying process from start to finish. Our house is superb quality and is the only house we have ever bought where we could literally not find a ‘snag’. We loved that we could make changes to the plans and individualise everything – we added an extension and made design changes to our kitchen. The range we could choose from was extensive and we fully designed our own kitchen and bathrooms and made changes such as to the staircase and location of the patio. Everyone was so helpful and informative throughout the whole process, particularly Olly and Trina and we would not hesitate recommending Risby to others. We also have a great community on our development which is an added bonus!

We love our Risby home, the quality of the finish surpassed our expectations of any new build home and we loved the process of designing our own kitchen. Jemima has been friendly and efficient in dealing with any snags since moving in and the builders are helpful and friendly.

Cannot Fault the team at Risby homes in anyway. There customer service from Start to finish and even after moving in is fantastic. You can always get hold of someone and are not put through to a switchboard system.
There building team clearly take pride in there work and this can be seen in the quality of their homes produced. Plus all the custom designs you can make to your property during the build to really make it your own.
Would recommend them to anyone.
Even if you don’t like new builds. Miles above the usual suspects.

We will be 4 years in our Risby home this year and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new home. Our buying experience was very positive and we were able to make modifications to our design which better suited our needs without any issue. Snagging was no problem, the issues were small and were dealt with quickly at our convenience. The quality of the home is great and better than any national house builders homes we’ve seen. 5/5 highly recommended.

I’d recommend a Risby home to everyone. The care and quality is better than any other new builds I looked at, and the sort of modern features you’d choose for a high-end renovation of an older house (oak doors, underfloor heating etc.) All the staff are friendly and helpful, and two years on we still love it, and the few snags that cropped up were quickly rectified. The company is the right size to give that personal touch.
I have no plans on moving, but if I ever do, I’ll be looking at where Risby are building!

Risby build high quality homes. Our new home at Beverley has been above our expectations with the quality of fixtures and fittings being a very high standard.
The buying process was very smooth even during the covid outbreak.
Excellent customer service and a friendly family firm.
I would highly recommend anyone to purchase a new home from Risby homes.
