Swapping building homes for playgrounds, we were proud to step in to help Little Weighton Primary School restore and weatherproof its damaged playground, subsequently doubling the size of the area the children have to play.

Our team were more than happy to assist the school when we heard that the full playground area was unusable due to safety concerns.

Providing expertise, machinery and labour without charge, we renovated the play area, making repairs to the play equipment and clearing the area to create more space for the children to play, almost doubling its size. The area was made completely weatherproof and safe for the children to play out in every season.

Elliot, age 5 said: “This is the best sandpit ever.”  While Connie, also age 5, said: “I like taking my shoes off and running around on the grass. It feels nice.”

“Many, many thanks to the team at Risby Homes, we can’t tell you enough how much we appreciate the work that’s been done and what a difference it has made to the children. They are so excited to have their playground back.”

– Helen Waterhouse from Little Weighton Primary School

Amy Barrett at Risby Homes, said: “We understand the importance of community and are proud to not only create new communities where families can thrive and grow but as a local employer, we’re keen to support our communities in other ways.

“We’re really pleased to have been able to help Little Weighton Primary School and make their playground a safe and enjoyable space for the children to play and grow. It’s wonderful to hear the feedback from the children.”

The final phase of Risby Homes’ Beverley development, Shepherd’s Rest will be released in spring 2022. To register your interest and be kept updated about when homes come available, email trina@risbyhomes.co.uk
