Risby Homes

Celebrating & supporting our local community

With lighter nights, warmer days, street parties and an extra bank holiday, there’s a lot to celebrate as we head into summer.

Have you made plans to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee?

Here at Risby Homes we take our role in the community seriously, creating spaces and places where people can thrive. As a local employer, we also do what we can to offer wider support to our communities, which is why we’re proud to be sponsoring a number of local jubilee celebrations and organisations, whose invaluable work deserves to be celebrated.

We’re supporting the Woodmansey Platinum Jubilee Gala, a family-friendly celebration for the Woodmansey community. Taking place at Woodmansey Village Hall and grounds on Sunday 3 July from 2pm to 8pm, the gala is a culmination of three days of festivities taking place throughout the weekend.

Purposefully scheduled to avoid other local Jubilee celebrations, this is the first event of its kind for Woodmansey and we’re delighted to be involved. With brass bands, magic shows, local covers’ bands, dance groups, choral singers, street stalls, morris dancers, a kids zone and a dog show, the event will be something the whole family can enjoy. There’ll be a licensed bar, food stalls and you’re welcome to bring your own picnic.

Not only is the event going to be a celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, all money raised will be donated to St Peter’s Church and Abbie’s Fund, a Woodmansey-based charity raising money to provide memory boxes for the Maternity Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital to give to parents who have lost their babies. You can book tickets here.

Our sponsorship of the Woodmansey Jubilee celebrations is just one of the wonderful events and causes we’re proud to support.

We’ve also made a donation to Walkington Parish Council’s Jubilee celebrations as well as a donation to Beverley Cherry Tree Community Centre who provide invaluable free support, advice and assistance to families in Beverley and surrounding area.

We’re really proud to be able to support incredible local organisations like the Cherry Tree Community Centre. From advice on welfare and employment, to running a community pantry,  youth club and a preschool, in a single week they can take over 300 calls from local people, looking for support, many of whom are older people worried about the costs of living from fuel to food.

Our donation has helped to create food recipe bags, purchase slow cookers for clients in crisis as well as to take preschool children on trips.

It’s fun being part of the community

Here at Risby Homes we love being part of the Beverley and wider community and we’re proud to be sponsoring this year’s Beverley Folk Festival.

Taking place from Thursday 16 until Sunday 19 June the festival includes concerts, jam sessions, dances and much more, including a stellar comedy lineup featuring Edinburgh Festival Comedy Award Nominee Tom Wrigglesworth, David Eagle and Katie Pritchard.

The majority of the festival is free with some ticketed events. For more information, updates and live streams head to the festival Facebook page @beverleyfolkfringefestival

If you want to be part of the Risby Homes community, a small number of homes are still available at Shepherd’s Rest in Beverley and The Vines in Cottingham is underway. To find out more or to arrange a viewing, contact the Sales Team at sales@risbyhomes.co.uk.
